The Woodstock Police Force, in partnership with the NB RCMP, recently completed a targeted traffic enforcement initiative during Canada’s National Road Safety Week, which ran from May 11 to May 18, 2026.

This year’s national campaign operated under the theme “Every Road, Every Day, Everyone.” Enforcement efforts specifically targeted the “Big 4” driving offences: impaired driving, distracted driving, aggressive driving, and failure to wear a seatbelt. These infractions remain the leading causes of traffic fatalities across Canada.

Throughout the week-long initiative, officers conducted strategic roadblocks and traffic stops, checking between 800 and 900 vehicles for compliance and driver sobriety.

The campaign resulted in the following:

  • 24 Provincial Offence Tickets issued for various infractions, including speeding and cell phone use.
  • 10 Written Warnings delivered to motorists.
  • 3 Seven-Day Suspensions handed out.
  • 3 Suspended Driver charges laid.
  • 6 Vehicles towed from the scene.
  • 6 Roadside Breath Tests administered.
  • 1 Arrest executed for prohibited driving.
  • 1 Immediate Roadside Suspension (IRS) issued for impaired driving.

The Woodstock Police Force thanks the many motorists who continually operate their vehicles with care and respect for others on the road.
