Firearm Seized Following Search Warrant Execution in Woodstock, New Brunswick – June 3, 2026
On May 20, 2026, the Woodstock Police Force Criminal Investigation Section commenced a firearms investigation involving a resident of the Town of Woodstock. As a result of information obtained during the course of that investigation, a search warrant was executed on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m. at 125 Elm Street, Woodstock, New Brunswick, whereby a firearm and a quantity of ammunition was seized.
Due to the potential risk posed to the public, police officers, and the subject of the investigation, assistance was provided by members of the Fredericton Police Force Emergency Response Team. Specialized tactics, including specialty munitions, were utilized to bring the operation to a safe and swift conclusion.
A male was arrested at the scene without incident and has been charged with the following offences:
- Possess a non-restricted firearm contrary to section 91(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
- Pointing a firearm contrary to section 87(2)(b) of the Criminal Code
- Possess a weapon for the purpose of committing an offence contrary section 88(2)(b) of the Criminal Code
- Carry a firearm in a careless manner contrary to section 86(3)(b) of the Criminal Code
The accused is remanded in custody until Monday June 8, 2026.
