Woodstock Police Force Results of Impaired Driving Enforcement Campaign
The Woodstock Police Force (WPF) is releasing the results of a targeted impaired driving enforcement campaign conducted on March 20 and 21, 2026. This initiative was part of the National Impaired Driving Prevention Week (March 15–21), aimed at removing dangerous operators from our roadways and educating the public on the severe risks associated with impairment.
Over the two-day period, officers focused on high-visibility checkpoints and proactive stops. The results of the operation are as follows:
• Approx. 700 vehicles checked.
• 12 Approved Screening Device (ASD) tests administered.
• 1 Standardized Field Sobriety Test (SFST) performed.
• 3 Impaired Drivers removed from the road (2 alcohol-related, 1 drug-related).
• 2 Immediate Roadside Sanctions (IRS) issued.
• 2 “WARN” range licence suspensions.
• 2 Arrests made and 7 Provincial Cautions issued.
Additionally, police observed 3 vehicles flee or turn around to avoid the checkpoint. While these drivers were not identified, such actions underscore the ongoing challenge of road safety.
I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to our members for their tireless work and to our residents for their continued support. Public safety is truly a collaborative effort.
The Woodstock Police Force remains committed to year-round enforcement. If you suspect a driver is impaired, please call 9-1-1 immediately.
